Frampton Cotterell Parish Council - official opening of ridings road play area.

Official Opening of Ridings Road Play Area!

On the 8th of January, 2024, Frampton Cotterell Parish Council began our work to refurbish the children’s play area at Ridings Road.

We are pleased to announce that this work was completed during the last week of January  and to let you know that this play area is now open to the public.

The refurbished play area has already seen many young visitors – it has been truly wonderful to see the excitement of local children rushing to enjoy the new play equipment!

We are proud that this new equipment is not only eco-friendly, -made with post-consumer recycled goods! – but that it was also designed with accessibility at the forefront. The new equipment includes an accessible merry-go-round and an accessible seat-swing.

Frampton Cotterell Parish Council would once again like to thank the Suez Communities Fund for their  generous contribution of £43,700, without which these improvements could not have gone ahead. We would also like to thank South Gloucestershire Council for their Member Awarded Funding in the amount of £500, which paid for our lovely new signage at the park.

We hope that our new play area will bring joy to our young parishioners for years to come!

Official Opening Ceremony

At 10am – 12pm on the 15th of February we will be holding an official Opening Ceremony at the Ridings Road play area to celebrate the re-opening of the park.

This event will include commemorative tree-, hedge-, and bulb-planting with help from the local Beavers and a ribbon-cutting ceremony with our parish council chair! We will also be providing refreshments.

You are welcome to attend with your little ones!
