Tree Planting in the Village

A tree has been planted at Ridings Road Play Area and we are hoping to find the person who planted it to work with them, and anyone else interested, on future plantings. The Parish Council are all for tree planting, especially edible species such as the community orchards we have planted at the Centenary Field.

At this stage, this Ridings Road tree may be able to stay as the conditions appear to be okay for it, however we cannot continue to allow trees to be planted on Parish Council land without permission. We are developing a Local Climate and Nature Action Plan to help enhance the village, including lots of tree planting. We have to make sure that all  trees are planted in the appropriate habitat, are native species and that it is safe to plant (e.g. no electric cables below ground).
