Scythe Training in Frampton Cotterell

SCYTHE TRAINING
Date: Friday 31st May, 2024
⏰ Time: 10:30am – 4:30pm
Location: Centenary Field, Frampton Cotterell
Cost: Free, but places limited!

Would you like to learn the traditional skill of scything meadows? If so, you’re in luck! Frampton Cotterell Parish Council is excited to offer free training on a day-long traditional meadow scything course.

Scything is great for biodiversity and the environment, as it helps with creating varied wildflower habitats and with reducing fuel use from machines. Plus, it’s also a great workout!

The aim of this training course is to give local people the opportunity to join us as volunteers for future scything sessions around the village. If you attend this free course, ideally we would love it if you could go on to join us on at least one scything session a year following the training.

This course is free, but places are limited and will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to reserve your place, or if you’d simply like to learn more, please contact our Nature Officer, Daisy, on nature@framptoncotterell-pc.gov.uk
