Climate & Nature Sessions – August 2025

Frampton Cotterell Parish Council runs regular Nature Volunteering / Practical Conservation sessions each month.

Unless otherwise stated, all of these sessions are free to attend and don’t require advanced booking. Everyone is welcome to attend these fun and friendly sessions!

Frampton Cotterell Parish Council Climate & Nature Practical Conservation Sessions – August 2025. 
•	St. Peter’s Churchyard Volunteers, Saturday 9 August, 9.30AM - 12PM, St. Peter’s Churchyard. St Peter’s Church organise this regular volunteer working group to help manage the churchyard for people and wildlife.
•	Mill Lane Community Allotment , Wednesday 13 August, 10AM-12PM, Mill Lane Allotments. Join us growing food, trees and wildflowers at our community allotment. New volunteers are always welcome to join our friendly group and spend some quality time outdoors. Refreshments provided. No need to book - just turn up on the day.
•	Moth Club, Sunday 17 August, 10AM, The Brockeridge Centre. We’ll be opening up the moth traps from the night before and viewing and identifying the moths we’ve caught. Come along and meet the moths! This is a great opportunity to have a close encounter with local wildlife. Sorry no dogs except assistance dogs. No need to book - just turn up on the day!
•	Centenary Field volunteers, Saturday 23 August, 10AM-12PM, Centenary Field. Join us for our regular volunteer session at the Centenary Field. New volunteers are always welcome to join our friendly group and spend some quality time outdoors. Refreshments provided. No need to book - just turn up on the day. This month we’ll be working on finishing the pond area.
•	Climate & Nature Local Art Exhibition, 26 - 31 August, The Brockeridge Centre. Frampton Cotterell Parish Council’s Climate & Nature Local Art Exhibition is our annual summer showcase for local artists to share their fantastic nature-themed art. Entry is free to all! We also have events planned during the exhibition week, including a Bat Talk & Walk, an adults watercolour flower painting session and a kids nature crafts sessions (both with local artist Nicky Stone). Booking is required for the special events. •	Hedgehog Watch continues throughout August. Have you seen a hedgehog? The Hedgehog Heroes Here group need your help to collect important data to support this threatened species. We want to understand where our remaining local hedgehog populations are so that we can target efforts to create hedgehog highways, and encourage people living in these areas to take action. Report your hedgehog sightings on our Hedgehog Watch Form by scanning the QR code (right) or email details of your sighting to our Wildlife Officer on wildlife@framptoncotterell-pc.gov.uk
•	Community Nature Reserve. The Community Nature Reserve is our joint project with Frampton Cotterell Nature to create a network of wildlife-friendly spaces across our local area. Learn more and sign up at: www.framptoncotterell-pc.gov.uk/community-nature-reserve

Date: Sunday 17th August
Time: 10am.
Location: The Brockeridge Centre garden.

Climate & Nature Local Art Exhibition. Frampton Cotterell Parish Council: Do Your Part, Save Our Planet.

Climate & Nature Local Art Exhibition
Date: Tuesday 26th – Sunday 31st August.
Time: 9AM – 7PM weekdays, 10AM – 4PM weekends.
Location: The Brockeridge Centre.

Community Nature Reserve

The Community Nature Reserve is a joint project by Frampton Cotterell Nature and Frampton Cotterell Parish Council. From private gardens to public green spaces, we want to create a network of wildlife-friendly spaces across our local area.
