Alan Lankester

Councillor

Originally from a fenland village near Cambridge, I moved to Bristol for university 44 years ago and stayed in the area to work for over 40 years in the National Blood Transfusion Service (now NHSBT) specialising in transplantation, managing the support laboratory for bone marrow transplantation at hospitals in Avon and Gloucestershire. Moved to Frampton Cotterell with my wife and three primary age children in 2002 when my work role changed to managing National IT developments for stem cell transplantation. Previously a youth football coach for Frampton Rangers and currently a committee member and occasional volunteer for Frampton Cotterell Nature – if you follow me on social media you will be aware of my fascination with the bugs that are essential components of sustainable horticulture, agriculture and food chains of higher animals but are increasingly threatened by the huge environmental changes over the last century.
