You Asked, We Answered: Why wasn’t the Beacon lit for the Jubilee Celebrations?

To all our parishioners, we hope that you had a lovely bank holiday, and that you enjoyed celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with your family, friends, and neighbours.

The Parish Council have received a few queries asking why the beacon at the Centenary Field was not lit for the Jubilee celebrations.

A local group had approached us to say that they would like to organise the lighting of the beacon, and we, the Parish Council, were in full support of this plan! Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances arising and due to many of our local volunteers being away over the long weekend and unable to support, the beacon lighting sadly could not take place.

We would like to apologise for any disappointment this caused.
