V.E. Day 80 – Get Involved!

The 8th of May, 2025, will mark 80 years since the end of World War II in Europe – V.E. Day.

To commemorate this historic anniversary, Frampton Cotterell Parish Council will be hosting a community celebration at Centenary Field – a similar event to our hugely successful and well-attended 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings, hosted by the parish council on June 6th of last year.

Local people are invited to join us at Centenary Field from 8 PM for the celebrations, culminating in the lighting of the Centenary Field Beacon at 9:30 PM.

Get Involved

To make this event fun, interesting, and engaging for all ages,  the parish council is seeking to get local people directly involved. Could you help make this historic event truly special for the people of Frampton Cotterell?

We would particularly like to hear from any groups or individuals who could run an activity or stall, or who could share relevant skills and/or knowledge with the community. As always, we would also be very grateful for any volunteers to assist with usual event support such as managing refreshments, helping with set up, etc.

We also welcome suggestions and ideas for this event – what would you like to see or do? Tell us!

If you’d like to get involved with our V.E. Day event, share feedback on our plans or simply learn more, please get in touch with us on 01454 864442 or on office@framptoncotterell-pc.gov.uk.
