Temporary Closure of Park Lane – July 2024

South Gloucestershire Council has released a notice of intent regarding the planned temporary closure of Park Lane, Frampton Cotterell.

Notice:  Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles.
Location: Park Lane, Frampton Cotterell.
Date: From 22nd July 2024 for an anticipated period of 6 weeks.

The closed part of the road is at the northernmost end of Park Lane, just past the turning near Nightingale Close, for approximately the same length as Nightingale Close. The marked diversion route covers the area of Park Lane which is not closed, Heather Avenue, Beesmoor Road, and Badminton Road.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, that length of Park Lane which extends from its junction with Park Avenue in a southerly direction for a distance of 200 metres.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with gas main upgrade works.

The order will be operative from 22 July 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 weeks duration.

Alternative route: Badminton Road, Beesmoor Road, Heather Avenue and vice versa
