Temporary Closure of Old Gloucester Road – July 2024

South Gloucestershire Council has released a notice of intent regarding the planned temporary closure of Old Gloucester Road, Winterbourne.

Notice: Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2024.
Location: Old Gloucester Road, Winterbourne.
Date: July 29th 2024, for an anticipated period of 5 days.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Old Gloucester Road which extends from its junction with Trench Lane in a northerly direction for a distance of 30 metres and in a southerly direction for a distance of 30 metres.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with water main renovation works.

The order will be operative from 29 July 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration.

Alternative route: Old Gloucester Road, B4057, B4058, Perrinpit Road and vice versa
