Practical Conservation Session

29 June @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

PRACTICAL CONSERVATION SESSION
Tree Care and Sapling Mulching
Date: Saturday June 29th, 2024.
⏰ Time: 10am – 12pm.
Location: Centenary Field, Frampton Cotterell.

Come along to Centenary Field this Saturday to learn how to care for saplings and get hands-on protecting local trees!

During this fun and free practical conservation session, we will be mulching the young saplings in the Centenary Field meadow. Mulching helps to suppress grass growth around the young trees, and helps the soil to retain water – all of which helps give our saplings a much better chance of surviving the summer.

We can provide equipment, but if you have your own gloves and shovel, please do bring them along. Under 16s are welcome (with a guardian) and so are well behaved dogs!
Refreshments will be provided – including some homemade cake!

If you have any questions about this session or about our Practical Conservation and Nature Volunteering sessions more generally, please email our Nature Officer, Daisy, at nature@framptoncotterell-pc.gov.uk.
